Members of the Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago (SATT) joined in a Multipartite Consultation on the Development of the Child Labour Policy. This Legislative and Policy Framework aims to strengthen national protection systems by establishing a clear, coherent, and enforceable legal basis for preventing child labour. Adoption and formal gazetting of hazardous and light work lists will define exactly which types of work are allowed for children and which are strictly prohibited. By setting these standards in law, employers, labour inspectors, and the courts gain clear guidance for identifying violations, applying penalties, and ensuring that children are safeguarded from dangerous or inappropriate work.
